Welcome to Linuxforum 2007

Linuxforum 2007 is the 10'th Open Source conference in a row, held in Copenhagen, Denmark. The conference is a very popular conference, and today the largest IT-conference in the Nordic region. The conference is a low budget and high quality running over two days around the first weekend of March 2006.

Friday March 2. is somewhat more geared towards our sponsors and exhibitors, where they can show their stuff with business oriented speakers from both Denmark and abroad in all areas concerning Linux, BSD and Open Source. Obviously there will be exhibitions Saturday too. See the program for Friday.

Saturday March 3. will be the classic Linuxforum format with technical speeches concerning Linux, BSD and Open Source, user group booths and exhibitions from many companies, exhibitor-speeches and competitions. See the program for Saturday.

Conference location

The conference will take place at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Architecture on March 2. and 3. 2007. The address is Danneskiold-Samsøes Allé 53, 1435 Copenhagen.

Where to stay in Copenhagen

The conference speakers will be staying at the Square Hotel, which is located right in the middle of Copenhagen. Note that the coord-team might be able to get some discount for you.

In case you are a student or alike you might want to check our low-budget alternatives: DANHOSTEL Copenhagen Amager.

Linuxforum 2007 will be the 10th in a row. We have had the honour of presenting a row of celebrities in the Open Source community: Jon "Maddog" Hall, Alan Cox, Simon Phipps, Louis Suarez-Potts, Wietse Venema, Kalle Dalheimer and Matthias Ettrich (KDE), Miguel de Icaza (GNOME), Poul-Henning Kamp (FreeBSD), David Axmark (MySQL), Dr. Gene Spafford (Security expert from Purdue University), Matt Welsh (Running Linux & Linux Documentation Project) and Wichert Akkerman (Debian) and a long list of other interesting people:

The conference is created by a lot of volunteers that work hard to create a good conference, and the ticket price can therefore be kept very low. Tickets for saturday is 175 DKK and for both days 650 DKK.

The conference is run by a coordination group.
