About Linuxforum

The LinuxForum conference takes place on March 4th and 5th 2005 in The Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. The address is Philip de Langes Allé, DK-1435 Copenhagen K

The program will be made public soon.

Friday March 4th is primarily our sponsors and exhibitors' day where they can show their stuff with business oriented speakers from both Denmark and abroad in all areas concerning Linux, BSD and Open Source. Obviously there will be exhibitions saturday too.

Saturday March 5th will be the classic LinuxForum format with technical speeches concerning Linux, BSD and Open Source, user group booths and exhibitions from many companies, exhibitor-speeches and competitions.

History

LinuxForum 2005 will be the 8th in a row. We have had the honour of presenting a row of celebrities in the Open Source community: Kalle Dalheimer and Matthias Ettrich (KDE), Miguel de Icaza (GNOME), Poul-Henning Kamp (FreeBSD), David Axmark (MySQL), Dr. Gene Spafford (Security expert from Purdue University), Matt Welsh (Running Linux & Linux Documentation Project) and Wichert Akkerman (Debian) and a long list of other interesting people:

The conference is created by a lot of volunteers that work hard to create a good conference, and the ticket price can therefore be kept very low. Tickets for saturday is 150 DKK and business tickets for friday is 500 DKK.
Tickets are typically sold out a week after sales opens.

The conference is run by a coordination group.

Transportation

Bus
Bus no 48 leaving from the Central Station will take you to Holmen. You will need to walk 10 min. following the signs from the busstop.

Harbourbus
You can also sail to Holmen on the Harbourbus no 901 and 902. The harbourbusses leave every 20 minutes. Get off at Holmen North

Car/Taxi
All cars driving to Holmen must drive via Christmas Møllers Plads. Follow the signs from there.

Bicycle
The easiest is of course to bicycle through Prinsessegade and Danneskiold Samsøes Alle.
